Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Design Project Specialist to lead project team members and ensure successful project outcomes.

  • Develop project design activities, including feasibility studies, from start to stable production within project baselines.
  • Define scope, budget, and schedule baselines for Design activities based on approved product requirements documents and statements of work.
  • Communicate customer requirements, scope, schedule, and budget constraints to cross-functional Design teams.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to coordinate activities, teams, and resolve issues to maintain project scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Track and manage project design expenses against project budgets.
  • Communicate project design status, including financial status, to customers and the project management team on a regular basis and resolve issues as needed.
  • Manage change control for Design changes, communicating impact to customers and management teams, developing new project baselines for approved changes, and communicating new baselines to Design teams.
  • Represent Design status and risk assessments in technical discussions with customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead project team members to achieve project goals.
  • Develop and implement project design strategies.
  • Ensure timely completion of projects within budget and scope.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field or equivalent experience. A Master's Degree is preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in materials, sales, marketing, engineering, manufacturing, and/or program administration or related experience. Ability to make effective speeches and presentations, work with mathematical concepts, define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Demonstrates advanced functional, technical, and people and/or process management skills as well as customer relationship skills.
