Mechanical Principal Engineers lead and deliver the development of innovative mechanical design solutions for desktop, portable and server computer systems and peripherals. Our team conducts analysis, feasibility studies and testing of mechanical products, instruments, subassemblies and packaging for new and existing products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designs and develops mechanical components and assemblies with strong emphasis on interpretation of mechanical drawing specifications.
  • Conducts and participates in engineering tests to validate the robustness and performance of new products.
  • Interfaces with suppliers, electrical engineers, manufacturing, quality, tooling engineers and other development groups to ensure successful product launch.
  • Responsible for testing, analysis and debug on assigned mechanical prototypes.

What You'll Achieve:

  • Develops or participates in project plans including schedule, budget and product cost.
  • Designs, documents and monitors validation and qualification of components and assemblies.
  • Proficient in use of all engineering development tools.
  • Works across products, technical disciplines and core teams to ensure consistency and thoroughness.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude for interpretation of mechanical drawing specifications.
  • Ability to read and understand complex drawings and 3D databases.
  • Understanding of appropriate technologies, vendor products and competitor offerings.
  • Ability to analyze options for critical design elements and features.
  • Knowledge of CAD and FEA tools.
