*Job Responsibility*

  • Formulate and execute global patent portfolio management strategies, including patent filing, maintenance, licensing, and integration of acquired patents.
  • Support standard-essential patent (SEP) licensing and litigation strategies across technologies such as H.264/AVC, H.265/HEVC, 4G/5G, and Wi-Fi 6/6E.
  • Analyze patent documents to identify potential defenses such as invalidity, non-essentiality, non-infringement, and non-FRAND royalty claims.
  • Collaborate with external counsel and cross-border teams to handle patent litigation and licensing negotiations in multiple jurisdictions including the United States, Germany, UPC, Brazil, UK and India etc.
  • Monitor global patent policies, court precedents, and industry developments.
  • Support patent due diligence, competitive analysis, and technology portfolio planning.

Requirements
Required:

  • Education: Master's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • Experience: Over 10 years of experience in patent management, licensing, or patent litigation.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of patent law, SEPs, and international licensing (FRAND) issues;
  • Experience in cross-border patent litigation (particularly before the CAFC, UPC, or German courts);
  • Familiarity with technical standards in video coding, wireless communications, and the Internet of Things;
  • Proficient in written and spoken English, with the ability to independently draft legal documents in English and communicate with international teams;
  • Excellent project management skills and cross-functional collaboration experience;
  • Ability to analyze complex technical documents and translate findings into legal strategies.

Preferred:

  • Participation in patent pool negotiations or large-scale licensing deals;
  • Prior experience working in the patent department of a large corporation;
  • Strong self-motivation with a high level of personal drive and initiative;
  • Enjoys tackling challenges and working in high-pressure, complex situations
