Job Description

The Business Finance Director reports to the CFO and serves as the Strategic Finance Partner for the business team. This individual will play a pivotal role in driving financial strategy and decision-making across the organization. The role requires a proactive finance professional who can collaborate with various departments to enhance financial performance and support key business initiatives.

Responsibilities

Financial Performance Analysis

  • Review business performance against plan/forecast across products and customer segments, proactively highlighting key risks to the business and senior management.
  • Develop financial models to provide insights for business forecasting and planning, and articulate strategies.
  • Ensure proper accounting policies and financial controls are in place.
  • Provide accounting guidance and financial advisory support to the business to ensure reporting integrity at all times.
  • Assist the business in expense management for both BAU and project/initiative spending.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to evaluate business performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Assist in the preparation of long-term financial forecasts and strategic plans.

Business Forecasting and Budgeting

  • Perform and manage full-year forecasts on a monthly basis, identifying opportunities and risks against the budget to ensure year-end targets are met.
  • Prepare, review, and submit the annual budget.

Ad-hoc / Initiatives

  • Assist in evaluating the financial performance of campaigns and initiatives, and track the results.
  • Support assessments of return on investment and strategic planning efforts.

Management

  • Establish short- and long-term departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Develop and implement necessary policies and procedures to ensure personnel and financial information security.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, with strong accounting experience.
  • 15+ years' experience in mid to senior-level finance or accounting roles in large corporations.
  • Solid cost and management accounting experience in mid to large-scale companies with multi-site manufacturing operations.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP financial and accounting systems.
  • Proficiency in short- and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.
  • Ability to motivate teams to produce high-quality deliverables within tight timeframes while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
