Medical Science Liaison, Ophthalmology

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Exchange and dissemination of scientific, educational, and research related information:

2. The MSL engagement plans, prepares and engages with TLs as an information scientist and colleague both proactively and reactively -The MSL provides

3. dissemination, clarification and education of scientific data, study protocols, meeting abstracts, and professional literature (both proactive discussions onlabel, and reactive discussions for unsolicited off-label questions in alignment with local regulations).

4. Applies an understanding of the broader and longer-term strategies when working with investigators and internal stakeholders.

5. Interactions with Medical Societies and organize Advisory Board meetings:

6. Answers medical / scientific queries of Medical Societies with regards to Bayer products

7. Organizes / supports / participates/follow up with the advisory board meetings.

8. Attends congresses and conventions, interacts with KTLs, establishes new contacts and gathers competitive intelligence.

9. Collection of unsolicited IIR ideas and facilitating IIR set-up:

10. The MSL acts as a point of contact for investigators, facilitating the interface with investigators and appropriate Bayer personnel responsible for approval, and communication of study progress and completion.

11. TL identification / profiling / segmentation and strategy and engagement planning:

12. In alignment with product Medical Affairs plan, the MSL contributes to internal understanding of specific TL interests and expertise within the medical community.

13. Market Access:

14. The MSL provides assistance to Medical Advisors and Market Access by supporting presentations of new information to hospital formularies and reimbursement decisions makers as required.

15. Internal scientific support:

16. The MSL has a strong clinical knowledge and is viewed as a resource in the MSL group and has expert knowledge and understanding of therapeutic area /

17. product and/or related fields. He/She contributes to internal cross/functional projects such as working groups and committees.

18. Project leadership:

19. The MSL demonstrates a high degree of execution with ability to organize and be held accountable for multiple medical projects, and accomplishment with projects assigned by His/Her supervisor. He/She participates in strategic planning within therapeutic area and the department.

WHO YOU ARE:

• At least Master degree in bio-sciences, pharmacology or medicine. Advanced degree in science-related field eg. MD, PharmD, PhD are preferred.
• At least 1 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred. Relevant experience in MSL, drug information, clinical research and development, or other clinical relevant activities would be a plus.
• Have preliminary understanding of clinical trial design and rationale
• A team player with open-minded interpersonal skills
• Capability to work independently and a demonstrated self-initiator
• Good presentation and written and verbal communication skills
• Good organization/alignment skills with ensuring timely follow-through and closure with internal stakeholders and external experts -Demonstrate good learning agility
• Capability to explore scientific information and extract insights from relevant scientific data to support brand strategy
• Academic / scientific writing experience either through educational background and / or job experience
• Job title and job grade are subject to the candidate's qualification.
