Summary

The Senior Lead Engineer, Hardware Design works with cross functional teams with other designers, customers, manufacturing engineering and project leadership to ensure robust and high quality product development. Enhance designs with feedback from reviews in areas such as manufacturing, test, supply chain, reliability, industrial design and simulations. Provide support throughout the manufacturing process of the electrical/mechanical system that they have designed.

The Senior Lead Engineer, Hardware Design (Electrical) develops new electrical systems/circuits for various applications.  Research system ideas and draw up plans for these systems, and capture them in schematics and system specifications. Test, simulate, validate and qualify their systems and make adjustments as needed 

The Senior Lead Engineer, Hardware Design (Mechanical) develops new mechanical systems/modules and maintains existing designs. Research mechanical concepts and create system solutions using 3D modeling and simulation software. Complete calculations and test, validate, and qualify their systems and make adjustments as needed.

Detailed Description

• Focus on EMC design, improve pass in once rate; Implement lab test.
• Own quality and cost from EMC perspective, coordinate internal teams, customer and suppliers deliver on time,
• Provide guidance to cross functional teams during design, mitigate EMC risks by, review schematic, layout, and Mechanical drawings.
• Be responsible for the EMC test case specification and plan according to the product requirements
• Be responsible for verification on EMC test, communication with external test laboratories,analysis of test results, generate test report
• Be responsible for applying the new product for safety and EMC certification, and get approval
• Technical support for customer projects EMC related topics. 
• Drive lessons learn of EMC perspective. 
• Understand safety 

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

• Full-time Bachelor or Master Major in Microwave, EMC, electrical, electronic, Mechanical engineering, etc.
• 6+ years' experience in EMC design, test and certification
• Proficient in EMC Principle
• Proficient in EMC standard and test, Experience of EMC test equipment and test software
• Proficient in using oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer and receiver
• Strong ability on trouble shooting or resolve issues related to EMC and safety compliance
• Familiar with world-wide certifications and agencies such as UL, TUV, FCC, VCCI, BSMI, KCC, ANATEL, NEBS
• Familiar with international regulatory standards such as CISPR32/35, GR1089, EN300386, UL60950, IEC62368, etc.
• Experience in EMC design of Storage/Server/Communication (Network switch products) is preferred;
• Experience in AC power supply or DC power supply EMC design is preferred
• Experience in HFSS/CST/SPICE or other EMC simulation a plus 
• Fluent English listening, speaking, reading and writing skill, capable of international communication.
• Excellent documentation skills including record maintenance/ tracking and understanding of document traceability
• Good initiative and positive personal personality, Self-motivation
• A detail-oriented individual, and the ability to work in a team environment, as well as individuall 

Physical Demands

• Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
• Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. 
• Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Typical Experience

• 4 to 6 years in a similar role or industry.

Typical Education

Bachelor degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
