Position Summary:
The Product Manager – Portfolio Management serves as a key integrator within the PMO, responsible for managing XING's product and project portfolio across its lifecycle. This role ensures all product initiatives align with strategic objectives, financial targets, and operational readiness. Acting as the bridge between business strategy, R&D, manufacturing, and supply chain, the position drives portfolio transparency, governance, and value realization.
Key Responsibilities:
Portfolio Planning & Governance
Build and maintain the company's product portfolio roadmap aligned with corporate and BU strategies.
- Support portfolio prioritization through data-driven evaluation (ROI, payback, NPV, cost-benefit).
- Lead portfolio review cycles and steering meetings, ensuring decisions are made with complete visibility.
Develop and manage portfolio dashboards, KPI reporting, and risk registers for management oversight.
Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
Drive lifecycle management from concept through mass production to end-of-life.
- Coordinate with R&D, Manufacturing, and Procurement to ensure readiness at each gate.
- Oversee design changes, cost optimization, and variant management within the lifecycle framework.
Maintain documentation and tracking across PLM and PEP (Product Engineering Process) systems.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Align project sequencing and dependencies across the PMO pipeline.
- Partner with Project Managers to synchronize resources, timing, and deliverables.
- Interface with BUs and management to ensure strategic alignment and performance tracking.
Serve as the central liaison for product-related communication between technical and business teams.
Financial and Strategic Analysis
Conduct profitability and margin analysis for new and ongoing product lines.
- Develop business cases and performance reports to support investment and prioritization decisions.
- Monitor market and technology trends to inform long-term portfolio evolution and diversification.
Support annual and mid-term planning with data-based portfolio input.
Process & Tool Development
Co-develop and implement portfolio governance frameworks with PMO (e.g., product funnel, gate forms, risk scoring).
Maintain and enhance portfolio reporting systems and visual dashboards.
Promote continuous improvement of portfolio management methodologies and tools.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in product management, portfolio management, or project management, ideally in EV, automotive, or energy sectors.
- Strong experience in lifecycle and portfolio governance processes.
- Financial literacy in ROI, NPV, and cost-benefit analysis.
- Proficient in PLM, ERP, or project portfolio management systems.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin, capable of stakeholder engagement across functions and levels.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience in matrix and cross-functional organizations.
- Familiarity with EV battery systems, module/pack design, or industrialization processes.
- PMP or Agile certification preferred.
- Strategic thinker with analytical mindset and execution discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex data into actionable portfolio insights.
