Job Responsibilities

  • Hardware Board Design Responsibility

  • Specifying, designing (schematic capture, PCB layout review, BOM, cost analysis), implementing and verifying subsystems on the motherboards, mid-planes, or Mezzanine cards.

  • Debugging and evaluating motherboard and/or circuit problems

  • Analyzing solution requirements, design and validation strategies 

  • Prepare Design Analysis and Engineering Reports

  • Responsible for hardware integration of I/O modules (NICs, HBAs, HCAs), motherboards, and enclosure management subsystem components including preliminary vendor investigation, qualification, manufacturing readiness, debug, system/software integration, and failure analysis

  • Responsible for driving long lead device planning to develop and deliver innovative device designs that drives market differentiation 

  • Development of subsystem requirements by working with team members evaluating different solution options for functionality, cost and risk, developing the solution, implementing it, verifying it and supporting it in production

  • Learn, analyze and implement new interfaces and subsystems, break down complex issues and collaborate across cross-functional teams to resolve issues in a timely manner. Must be able to plan work and work to a plan, adapting as necessary in a rapidly evolving environment

  • Developing Proof of Concept implementations 

  • Interfacing with the design teams in other locations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering plus 5 years of related experience or equivalent.

  • 3+ years of Server Product Development.

  • Firm understanding of servers operating in a data center environment.

  • Demonstrated ability working in a fast-moving ,small team environment.

  • Working knowledge of major server components (motherboards, hard drives, RAM, CPU's, heat sinks, fans, etc.) required.

  • Proven ability using appropriate test equipment.

  • Solid knowledge of AC power Distribution Systems at both the cabinet and node level.
