Taipei Taipei City, Taiwan Barco Full time $90,000 - $120,000 per year

To successfully deliver our innovative ClickShare portfolio, we are expanding our global program management team with a SW Project Manager who will serve as the critical bridge between external ODM suppliers and our internal agile development teams. This role operates within our NPI program structure, working alongside NPI Project Managers.

The SW Project Manager will orchestrate the complex integration of ODM waterfall software development with our internal agile practices, working closely with Product Owners who serve as the primary counterparts in our internal agile structure. This unique position requires balancing the structured timelines of hardware development with the iterative nature of software innovation, while managing teams and stakeholders across different organizational boundaries and ensuring transparent communication flows through comprehensive reporting on defects, status, and delivery progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bridge development paradigms: Seamlessly integrate ODM waterfall software delivery processes with internal agile development practices, creating hybrid approaches that optimize both efficiency and innovation.
  • Lead without authority: Guide and coordinate internal teams of testers and programmers working with ODM partners, using influence, coaching, and collaborative leadership to achieve collective goals.
  • Establish communication clarity: Create and maintain transparent communication matrices that clearly define roles, responsibilities, and information flows between ODM suppliers, internal development teams, Product Owners, and program stakeholders.
  • Steer supplier software development: Actively manage ODM partner software development activities, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards, timeline requirements, and architectural vision alignment.
  • Orchestrate cross-functional delivery: Work closely with NPI Project Managers to synchronize software development milestones with overall hardware development timelines and program objectives.
  • Validate and integrate deliverables: Oversee the intake, validation, and integration of ODM software components through comprehensive testing and quality assurance processes.
  • Manage complex dependencies: Identify, track, and resolve software-related dependencies and risks across the entire development ecosystem, ensuring smooth program execution.
  • Facilitate stakeholder alignment: Serves from a SW perspective as the primary communication hub between ODM suppliers, internal development teams, architects, and program management, ensuring all parties remain aligned on objectives and deliverables.
  • Drive continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize collaboration processes between suppliers and internal teams, implementing best practices that enhance delivery efficiency and quality.

We Are Looking For a New Colleague Who

  • Communicates globally: Fluent in both spoken and written both Mandarin and English.
  • Has proven project management expertise in complex supplier ecosystems, ideally combining software development with external partnerships and ODM relationships.
  • Masters multiple methodologies: Strong practical understanding of both Waterfall and Agile development approaches, with demonstrated ability to bridge and integrate different development paradigms effectively.
  • Excels in matrix leadership: Exceptional people management and coaching skills, with proven track record of successfully leading and influencing teams without direct reporting relationships.
  • Demonstrates superior communication abilities: Outstanding verbal, written, presentation, and facilitation skills, capable of effectively communicating across organizational levels and cultural boundaries.
  • Applies creative problem-solving: Highly intuitive and pragmatic approach to navigating organizational complexities, with ability to find innovative solutions to challenging integration problems.
  • Brings supplier management experience: Demonstrated success in managing external development partners, particularly in software development or ODM environments.
  • Shows analytical and strategic thinking: Strong analytical mindset with excellent dependency management capabilities and ability to see the bigger picture while managing detailed execution.
  • Uses modern tools effectively: Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, Confluence).
  • Understands software development: Experience with software testing, validation processes, and embedded development is a plus.
  • Thrives in scaled environments: Experience with large-scale development environments involving multiple suppliers, teams, and locations is a plus.
  • Adds language advantage: Professional proficiency in Mandarin is a plus for ODM supplier management.
  • Embraces mobility: Able and willing to travel when necessary for supplier coordination, team alignment, and stakeholder management.
