D&E Field – Taiwan Factory Engineering – Optics-Illumination Design Engineer

Introduction to the job
For our brand new ASML DUV manufacturing facility at New Taipei campus, we are looking for experienced optics/illumination design engineers who can support the new manufacturing process of the DUV modules to meet the output and quality requirements for these DUV-modules.

The vision is to build a more scalable, competitive, and closer-to-the customer manufacturing capability in Taiwan which is able to send qualified modules directly to the customer.

You will work in a team of approximately 40 fte (projected to grow further) of multiple competences. You will work closely together with the manufacturing team (~70 fte) and Supplier Quality Engineers (~10 fte). This team is part of the D&E Field organization with an overarching mission to increase intimacy with our customer and ASML operations (Customer Support, Repair & Re-use, Manufacturing and Strategic Sourcing and Procurement).

Expect that you will spend approximately six months for training purposes in the Netherlands in 2026 before the start of the manufacturing in Taiwan.

Roles And Responsibilities
To build the manufacturing capability at New Taipei Campus we need optics/ illumination design engineers who will:

• Support the DUV module manufacturing organization with troubleshooting capability.
• Translate operational manufacturing requests into clear specifications in your own domain.
• You identify improvement opportunities for the current illumination design and/or manufacturing processes, Additionally, you can translate these ideas into appropriate documentation and synchronize with central D&E.
• Can communicate and synchronize with engineers & architects from other disciplines (mechanics, electrical, software, physics).
• Build, maintain, and share specialist knowledge in the field of optics/illumination.

Education And Experience
You have an intrinsic motivation for hands-on technical support, and you have bachelor's or masters degree in physics.

≥ 2 years of optics/illumination engineering experience in a similar role within ASML or related high-tech industry.

• Enthusiastic and ambitious professional who can communicate clear and concise to peers and customers combined with stakeholder management skills to operate across sites and sectors.
