Role Overview
We are seeking a
Senior Project Manager
who loves being hands-on, thrives in dynamic environments, and is motivated by building processes—not just following them. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats, guiding junior PMs, and partnering closely with factories to bring real products to life.
You will lead cross-functional, multi-phase hardware projects from ideation to mass production, ensuring clarity, alignment, and execution excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership
- Lead full-cycle product development from concept → prototype → DFM → tooling → pilot → mass production.
- Create clarity for all stakeholders by defining scope, deliverables, milestones, and acceptance criteria.
- Facilitate cross-functional alignment across ID, ME, EE, sourcing, QA, and operations.
Detailed Scheduling, Planning & Risk Management
- Lead the development of comprehensive project schedules and resource plans
, ensuring critical paths, dependencies, and buffering strategies are clearly defined. - Establish structured, realistic timelines based on engineering estimates, factory lead times, tooling schedules, and material availability.
- Break down complex projects into manageable phases, gating criteria, and internal deliverables.
- Ensure team members understand their responsibilities, due dates, and interdependencies.
- Track timeline performance closely through weekly reviews and project dashboards.
- Implement rigorous risk identification, assessment, and mitigation planning
across all project phases. - Maintain a live risk register with probability, impact assessment, owner, and mitigation actions.
- Communicate risks clearly to management, escalating when necessary, before issues escalate into delays.
- Proactively adjust plans based on real-time changes from factories, suppliers, or internal teams.
Financial & Budget Oversight
- Manage and control the project budget, monitoring actual costs vs. estimates using the Project Dashboard.
- Review and approve project expenditures (tooling, samples, components, freight, testing, etc.) with financial discipline.
- Ensure projects meet financial goals and maintain healthy profitability.
- Provide clear, timely financial reports or budget updates to management when requested.
- Collaborate with procurement, operations, and finance teams to optimize costs without compromising quality.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Serve as the main communication bridge between HQ teams and manufacturing partners in Taiwan, China, and Southeast Asia.
- Translate product concepts into actionable engineering and manufacturing plans.
- Drive effective weekly sync meetings, ensuring blockers are removed and decisions are made quickly.
- Document all key decisions, updates, and changes with clarity and transparency.
Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Mentor, coach, and elevate Junior Project Managers through guidance, accountability, and PM best practices.
- Help build Gizmospring's internal project methodologies, SOPs, and templates.
- Promote a culture of ownership, clarity, and continuous improvement.
Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
- Anticipate technical, manufacturing, and supply chain issues early.
- Drive resolution with engineering and factory partners to protect timelines and quality.
- Lead post-mortems and embed lessons learned into future projects.
- Identify process gaps and implement scalable solutions that work for a startup-like environment.
Who You Are
Mindset & Culture Fit
- You value clarity, honesty, accountability, and teamwork.
- You enjoy creating structure in fast-paced, ambiguous situations.
- You dislike unnecessary corporate layers and prefer real impact over politics.
- You thrive in environments with diverse product categories and constant movement.
- You want to help shape a growing company's systems, not just operate within them.
Experience & Skills
- 8+ years
of experience in project/program management, ideally in hardware or manufacturing. - Fluent English communication (meetings, documentation, presentations).
- Strong organizational, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with engineering terminology and manufacturing workflows.
Bonus Superpowers
(Not required, but highly preferred.)
- Background in
Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
. - Experience working closely with factories in Taiwan, China, or Southeast Asia.
- Knowledge of DFM, tooling, injection molding, PCBA development, and validation builds.
- Startup experience or exposure to fast-cycle hardware development.
Why Join Gizmospring?
- Direct influence over products, processes, and culture.
- Founder-led environment with fast decisions and real impact.
- Work on diverse, meaningful hardware projects across multiple industries.
- Grow with a team that values curiosity, improvement, transparency, and teamwork.
- No corporate BS — just real problem-solving and real results.
