The Cost Engineer will have responsibility for managing the overall cost status on projects from establishing initial baselines within the Exyte systems of record, monthly updates and preparing management reports through to project close out. The position requires a high degree of collaboration and teamwork in order to be able to provide timely, efficient and strong support to projects on cost control so that projects are successfully executed. This role will report to the Head of Project Controls and be head office based however will require regular visits to projects

Explore Your Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Set-up and configure cost control budgets in the cost management system (EcoSys) including alignment with Procurement at the start of all projects.
  • Update Project Cost Report on a monthly cadence with actuals and forecast to complete, including risk register within the cost management system aligning with both Procurement & Project Manager.
  • Ensure adequate tracking of Change Notices/Orders is established on all projects. Establish manpower control budgets and monitor actuals and forecast to complete (MMS).
  • Be the systems expert to train others and be the point of contract as global system updated happen.
  • Set-up General Project Report and, with the Project Manager ensure the report is updated monthly including internal management reviews before submitting to Corporate Risk Management.
  • Perform earned value analysis and support finance accrual process.
  • Maintain historical project metrics and data for benchmarking.
  • Ensures project controls and reporting requirements are understood and followed by the team.
  • Develop and document (as necessary) local Cost Control procedures that align to the corporate standards.
  • Participate in internal Project Audits/Reviews as required/requested.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Show Your Expertises

  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience working in a cost role on hi-tech projects within the semi-conductor, life science or data center sectors.
  • Sound understanding of Project Controls processes.
  • Proficient in understanding of setting up budgets and the use of work breakdown structures.
  • SAP, MS Project, Primavera P6 skills.
  • Good English & Mandarin (Chinese) skills.
