DP Business Management

There is one vacancy for DP Business Management in the high school. The teacher will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing conceptually rich and developmentally appropriate instruction within the International Baccalaureate framework. An ideal candidate will have at least five years of teaching experience, a valid teaching license, and a strong background in business, economics, or a related field. Experience teaching the IB Diploma Programme (DP) - particularly in Business Management - is highly desirable, and familiarity with the Middle Years Programme (MYP) is an advantage.

The ideal teacher will be reflective, open to feedback, and passionate about creating engaging learning environments for students. Preferred qualifications include:

• A demonstrated ability to lead high levels of student learning.
• An aptitude for building and maintaining positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents.
• Knowledge and experience with curriculum development within the IB DP framework.
• Experience leading an advisory class or involvement in pastoral care, with a focus on student well-being, mentorship, and personal development.
• Participate in or lead extracurricular activities related to business , such as helping students organize business competitions
• Recent IB DP training and current high school teaching certification.
• Strong understanding and respect for a diversity of cultures and the needs of language learners.
• Has life experiences that demonstrate, among other things, a growth mindset, versatility, adaptability and resilience.
• Effective communication skills utilizing a variety of mediums and techniques.

Kaohsiung American School (KAS) is a private, not-for-profit day school established in 1989 for the children of expatriate families in Kaohsiung.
