About the Role

We are seeking a Modular Data Center Architect to lead the architectural design and system integration of next-generation modular data center solutions across the APAC region. This role will be based in Taipei, working closely with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineering teams to develop scalable, prefabricated, and high-efficiency data center modules tailored to regional environmental and regulatory requirements.

You will play a key role in developing the system architecture, layout configuration, and design standards that define the future of modular data center deployment across Asia.

Key Responsibilities

Architectural Design & System Integration

• Lead the overall architectural design of modular data centers, including module layout, envelope, space utilization, and functional zoning.

• Coordinate with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) teams to ensure seamless integration between building envelope, structure, and systems.

• Define modular design standards, scalability principles, and configuration options for various deployment scales (edge, regional, and hyperscale).

Project Development & Regional Coordination

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across APAC to adapt designs to local codes, site conditions, and climate factors.

• Oversee early-stage feasibility studies, concept design, and design development phases.

• Support the procurement and vendor selection process for modular components and fabrication partners.

Technical & Regulatory Oversight

• Ensure all designs comply with international and local standards such as IBC, NFPA, ISO, ASHRAE, and local building codes.

• Participate in peer reviews, design audits, and value engineering to optimize cost, efficiency, and constructability.

• Work with local consultants and authorities to streamline design approval and permitting processes.

Innovation & Standardization

• Drive continuous improvement in modular design, focusing on energy efficiency, manufacturability, and deployment speed.

• Contribute to digital design workflows including BIM (Revit/AutoCAD), SolidWorks, and 3D visualization tools.

• Collaborate with the global R&D and engineering teams to align APAC regional designs with global standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or related field.

• 8+ years of experience in architectural design, with 5+ years in data center or industrial facility design preferred.

• Strong understanding of modular construction, prefabrication, and data center operational requirements.

• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, or SolidWorks (knowledge of Revit is a strong plus).

• Familiar with ASHRAE 90.4, IBC, NFPA 75/76, and Tier III–IV design principles.

• Excellent communication and coordination skills in a multidisciplinary environment.

• Fluent in English; proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience working with data center operators, hyperscalers, or modular system integrators.

• Knowledge of AI data center cooling technologies, liquid cooling, or containerized design systems.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, globally distributed team environment.

• Strong problem-solving mindset and interest in industrialized construction or design-for-manufacture (DfMA).
