Manager, Account Management 

The Opportunity:

Join the Account Management Team to explore any opportunities in clients' supply chains that Flexport can add value into. In this role, it is highly dynamic (seeking for solutions in this ever-changing market) and collaborative (liaising with internal parties to provide unique solutions for Asia clients). You will be the main driver of our Asia business growth and the motivator of the client solutions team towards our goals. The opportunities in this role are essential to helping our clients understand Flexport's value proposition. The Manager, Account Management will manage a book of business where they will own the long-term client relationship, improving and growing the client's business by identifying and implementing new and enduring global trade solutions to drive the client's business forward.

You will:

  • Lead the business growth plan related to the book of business in terms of generating sales leads, transforming leads to opportunities and developing solutions for clients. 
  • Use your advanced knowledge of the client's business goals, the industry, and Flexport's services and solutions to proactively close and deliver new solutions that empower the client and deepen the client relationship. 
  • Serve as the client's trusted advisor, advocating for their needs with internal stakeholders and finding win-win solutions for the client and for Flexport.
  • Use regular client touch points and business reviews to help clients understand the value they are realizing and to capitalize on new opportunities to deepen the relationship and improve client retention.
  • Work cross-functionally across Supply Chain Operations, Procurement, Account Solutions, Implementation, Industry SMEs, and Trade and Financial Services teams to develop and execute on the client strategy in a deliberate way that maximizes the client's outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest industry and supply chain developments, so that you can proactively educate and support your clients through change.
  • Proactively monitor the client's health to identify opportunities to improve client outcomes and ensure that Flexport meets its business objectives.
  • With the support of Account Managers, you will help the client improve operational processes and streamline its supply chain.
  • Ensure high product adoption by mastering the Flexport platform and teaching your clients how to get the most out of their Flexport experience. 
  • Collaborate with Gateway Operations by providing feedback to ensure client needs are met.
  • Demonstrate strong ability to problem solve and escalate
  • Bring enriched industry knowledge and ability to apply accordingly
  • Collaborate and communicate with internal and external partners/clients

You should have: 

  • Bachelor/master degree
  • At least 5 years of experience in sales, account management and supply chain operations roles, preferably in managerial or team lead level positions.
  • A background in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain (preferred)
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with a strong track record of successfully delivering innovation and driving results
  • Experience working with complicated global team matrices and drive desirable solutions and results
  • Experience building client relationships globally and leveraging those relationships to grow the business partnership
  • Passionate about achieving team success; able to inspire and motivate the team. 
  • Can-do, roll-up-the-sleeves, results-oriented approach; accessible and approachable. 
  • Strategic thinker and disciplined planner; able to operationalize strategic plans; well organized. 
  • Excellent presenter and communicator on all channels (written, verbal, phone, media)
  • Exceptional negotiation and problem-solving skills 
  • Cognizant of business cultural differences and norms across the globe; able to adapt style and approach to local business cultures. 
  • Highly collaborative; track record of building strong internal and external relationships.

The Manager of Account Management will have the unique opportunity to manage and mentor Account Manager(s) in your team, as they ensure that Flexport consistently delivers value and as they identify new opportunities to improve client outcomes and deepen the client relationship.

  • You will be accountable for the growth and performance of Account Managers
  • You will provide coaching on navigating difficult client conversations and collaborating with internal stakeholders.
  • You will help Account Managers identify new business opportunities through a deep understanding of the client's supply chain, business metrics, and the Flexport solutions.
  • You will teach them the fundamental skills of account management.
  • You will provide constructive feedback during the company's performance cycle.
  • You will make recommendations related to career growth opportuniti
