Purpose of role:

This role will be responsible for ownership of all aspects of financial accounting, reporting and controls, ensuring a stable platform of financial capabilities, systems and processes to support business objectives

Responsibilities include:

Financial Accounting

• Maintain the general ledger, prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and produce financial statements (TB, P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, including transaction processing, reconciliations, and overdue account collections
• Manage fixed asset registers, reconcile in-transit inventory, and ensure accurate accounting of physical and financial assets
• Implement accounting policies aligned with local and global standards, and prepare annual statutory accounts per relevant regulations.

Capital and Profit Management

• Ensure receivable balances are monitored and collected on time and cash flow needs are anticipated and met
• Seek ways to minimize expenses and reduce costs through better information and advice to managers
• Protect wealth with internal controls and procedures appropriate to the safeguarding of assets

Income Tax and Indirect Taxes (liaise with tax advisors as necessary)

• Ensure adequate records and audit trails exist to support lodged returns
• Liaise with tax advisors and planners
• Ensure appropriate and fully reconciled tax effect accounting entries are maintained in the general ledger
• Review all indirect tax returns and ensure submitted on time

System and collaboration support

• Support the rollout of financial systems (Concur, Oracle Fusion, SAP), and drive continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and enhancing accounting workflows.
• Ensure all financial processes, procedures, and reporting tools are thoroughly documented, standardized, and centrally maintained for consistency and compliance
• Coordinate with relevant team in ensuring payroll transactions and payroll taxes are correctly reflected in the General Ledger of all entities

Who are you?

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Professional certifications like CPA, ACCA, or Chartered Accountant are highly valued
• At least 7 years of relevant work experience in accounting or finance roles
• Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and audits is often required
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks)
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with stakeholders
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Knowledge of local and international accounting standards and regulations
• Good Communication and negotiation skills with various stakeholders
• Independent, confident and results driven with strong interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills and strong financial acumen.
