Firmware Security Engineer

As a Firmware Security Engineer, you will be part of a team that develops and protects industrial computing products.

  • Lead the vulnerability management firmware/software coding tasks for various UEFI/BIOS, BMC, and microcontroller applications.
  • Collaborate with external partners to perform BIOS customization for computer motherboards.

This full-time position involves engaging in projects from vulnerability identification, risk mitigation, and validation testing.

  • Work with the security team to identify and mitigate firmware vulnerabilities.
  • Perform firmware development for vulnerability mitigation.
  • Define BIOS specifications with the firmware development team.
  • Collaborate with external parties in the vulnerability management lifecycle.
  • Validate function of firmware & BIOS on prototypes.
About the Role

Responsibilities

You will lead the security engineering efforts for our industrial computing products. This includes:

  1. Identifying and mitigating firmware vulnerabilities.
  2. Developing and implementing firmware fixes.
  3. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure security is integrated throughout the product development lifecycle.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in firmware security management, preferably in the industrial PC industry.
  • Strong knowledge of embedded systems security, including threat modeling, risk assessment, and security implementation.
  • Experience with UEFI security standards and secure boot mechanisms.
