Program Lead for Materials Science and Engineering

We are seeking a highly experienced Technical Program Manager to lead our materials science and engineering program. As a seasoned professional with 5 years of practical engineering experience, you will be responsible for coordinating the work of the Materials Engineering team and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality materials throughout the development process.

This role requires strong communication and information synthesis skills to manage color-related qualification communication with team members, leaders, and stakeholders. You will drive schedule and reporting for all color qualification activities, provide synthesized weekly summaries, and update material milestones and deadlines as needed.

You will also work closely with vendors to optimize build and testing schedules, continuously improve established processes, and partner with cross-functional teams to establish overall processes, milestones, and schedules for business units where color-qualification is not yet operationalized.

Requirements:
  • 5 years of practical engineering experience in vendor development/management and technical program management
  • Expert ability to synthesize and communicate technical tradeoffs, budgets, and schedules for highly technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated examples of Gantt chart scheduling and budget forecasting

A bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field is required. Knowledge of engineering properties of plastics, textiles, coatings, metals, adhesives, and other materials is preferred. Experience documenting material-specific design, test, and manufacturing requirements is also beneficial.

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
