About Portfolio Management Portfolio Management is uniquely crafted to deliver outstanding outcomes, better returns, increased convenience and improved transparency for our clients by building investment quality and efficient portfolios. As an Analyst, you will
• Be responsible for stock analysis and investment recommendations, undertaking robust and rigorous research and analysis
• Recommend and share investment ideas for equities with other investment professionals
• Provide macro-economic views and insights as well as opinions on the outlook for the equity market and key and pertinent market drivers from top-down and bottom-up perspectives
• Partner with local and global portfolio managers and research analysts to receive and provide investment ideas for implementation into portfolios
• Operate as part of the team utilizing best practices in terms of philosophy and process while contributing to evolution and development
• Build partnership and strong working relationship with counterparts around the region
• Serve as a resource for, and share information with, other investment professionals at BlackRock
• Note: The specific responsibilities of an intern in Portfolio Management may vary depending on the team and the investment strategies they support. What capabilities are we looking for?
• Passion for investing and interest in markets and portfolio management
• Strong fundamental research skills with particular strength in financial analysis/modelling
• Good understanding of business models, industry dynamics, and competitive analysis
• Data driven mindset; investment theses are backed up with data and not simply stories
• Knowledge of financial markets, especially in Asia / North Asia
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to constructively debate and challenge ideas
• Ability to work closely with a small team as well as more broadly within an organization where information-sharing is critical to the success of all teams across asset classes
• Ability to grasp quantitative concepts and its application to portfolio management
• Analytical approach and critical thinking
