We are looking for a skilled and proactive compliance counsel to join our Legal & Compliance team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, an impactful communicator, and critical thinker. This is a great opportunity for a candidate who is looking to join a collaborative, dynamic and growing legal team in support of broad compliance initiatives and risk mitigation strategies across our global business.

Responsibilities:

Legal Compliance and Risk Management

  • Provide legal advice on product liability matters, including product safety, recalls, and consumer protection laws across jurisdictions.
  • Advise on antitrust and competition law issues, including pricing strategies and distribution agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with global data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, and other emerging frameworks), including data governance, breach response, and cross-border data transfers.
  • Assess and respond to complex regulatory inquiries and investigations involving our products and businesses globally.
  • Liaise with external counsel, regulatory authorities, and other internal/external stakeholders as needed.

Policy Development and Implementation

  • Design global compliance policies and procedures, including but not limited to, antitrust, data privacy, and product liability.
  • Develop best practices and training programs on compliance topics for employees at all levels.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement compliance programs and training initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Taiwan or US-licensed attorney. Japan and Australia-qualified attorneys will also be considered.
  • 3+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably at a multinational in-house setting or at a law firm with a focus on compliance or regulatory investigations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional projects and drive initiatives to completion.
  • Strong understanding of global regulatory frameworks, including data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), antitrust, and product safety standards.
  • Experience with consumer goods or in the manufacturing industry is a plus.
  • Ability to read and write Japanese is a plus.
