Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Chinese OPI/VRI Interpreter. The interpreter will facilitate communication between individuals with limited English proficiency and English-speaking individuals through over-the-phone (OPI) and video remote interpreting (VRI) services. Daily tasks include accurately interpreting conversations in real time, adhering to industry standards, ensuring cultural sensitivity, and maintaining confidentiality. The interpreter will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality language services to clients across various industries.

Qualifications

  • Fluency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese and English with excellent speaking, listening, and comprehension skills
  • Strong interpreting skills, including real-time verbal translation and maintaining accuracy under time constraints
  • Familiarity with cultural nuances, sensitivity, and awareness in communication
  • Proficiency in using remote communication tools and technology for OPI and VRI services
  • Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and ability to build rapport with clients
  • Previous experience in professional interpretation or related fields is preferred
  • Certification in interpretation or related qualifications is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to varying subject matter in different industries
