We are excited to invite you to join our growing team in Taipei as a Contracts Manager. In this role, you will provide expert support and guidance to leading developers on CAPEX contracts.

About JCG in Taiwan:

Situated in Taipei, JUMBO Consulting Group (JCG) Taiwan is led by Elvin Sng, our APAC Director. With a diverse team of 18 experienced procurement and contract management specialists, our Taiwan branch has been operational since its establishment in 2018.

During our time in Taiwan, JCG has actively contributed to the development of the country's offshore wind sector, participating in several significant offshore wind projects. We continue to recognise the potential of offshore wind in Taiwan and remain dedicated to supporting the country's renewable energy goals, striving to influence a sustainable energy future for the region.

Role & Responsibility

Your role will entail the negotiation of main contracts, contract and commercial management during project execution, and overall support to ensure the successful realisation of the project in accordance with the project contract management strategy.

  • The planning, implementation and execution of procurement and/or tender drafting and negotiation of main contracts throughout the lifecycle of project development and execution.
  • Work side by side with the project management team to ensure a successful project delivery, balancing risk with solutions that are commercially and contractually viable.
  • Keep a continuous overview over critical milestones, assess and manage rights and obligations according to the contract.
  • Direct and process changes, variations and claims in the project and ensure that the changes are implemented in compliance with our client's commercial interests.
  • Provide interpretation of contracts, organize and process correspondence with contracting parties and monitor fulfilment of contractual obligations.
  • Manage the commercial relationship and communication with contractors during the execution phase of the project keeping a close dialogue with them to ensure that issues are dealt with proactively with diligence and foresight.
  • Ensure timely delivery of the contract within the set mandate.
  • Drive governance processes and required presentation material towards different stakeholders and decision bodies such as the Steering Committee.
  • Contribute to further developing processes regarding contract management.

Further to your work on major projects, you will also have the opportunity to be involved in:

Business Development:

  • Marketing, e.g. Contributing to thought leadership, industry news and events.
  • Client development and industry engagement.
  • Support to the overall group through contributing to our specialist knowledge centers and the development of best practices anchored in guidelines, processes, tools and templates.

Training & Development:

  • Contribute or host informal and formal training sessions with the overall group.
  • Contribute to the development of online education courses alongside our partner, the Renewable Construction Academy (RECOA).

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking passionate and motivated procurement and contract management professionals in Taiwan that are aligned to our Vision and excited by the opportunities and challenges of working in a rapidly expanding international business. Ideally you will have:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field of study.
  • Ability to relocate to Taiwan and work closely with the team.
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably in a matrix organization.
  • Experience within offshore wind or offshore renewable energy industry. Experience in major infrastructure and energy projects is welcomed.
  • Experience with leading and managing key project contracts.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Structured and methodical way of working.
  • Ability to project manage processes and lead negotiations.
