We're looking for an experienced Delta-1 Trader to join our growing Onshore Taiwan business and take ownership of our Taiwan futures, ETFs and calendar-roll book. You'll devise and execute trading strategies, manage risk in real time, and collaborate closely with researchers, developers and risk managers to push our edge in one of the region's most dynamic markets. Core responsibility details include:

  • Market-making & Position Management of the TAIFEX index futures, rolls, TWSE-listed ETFs; maintain tight prices and optimizing risk/reward
  • Strategy Development Design, back-test and implement systematic and discretionary delta-one strategies (e.g., index arb, basis, dividend, curve and roll optimisation)
  • Risk Ownership; monitor greeks, stress scenarios and liquidity; adjust positions within agreed limits and escalate when necessary
  • Cross-Team Collaboration Work with quantitative researchers on model enhancements, and with engineers to refine low-latency trading systems
  • Collaborate with Options trader to maximize synergies between options and D1 desks
  • Regulatory & Operational Compliance Ensure adherence to FSC/TAIFEX rules, exchange-mandated position limits and Optiver's internal risk framework
  • Market Intelligence Track corporate-action calendars, index rebalances, macro events and microstructure changes affecting Taiwan products

What You'll Need
To succeed in this role, you'll need to have the below skills and experience.

  • 3–10 years' proven impact in delta-one or index futures/ETF trading, ideally with Taiwan market exposure
  • Deep understanding of TAIFEX/TWSE microstructure, rolls, expiry conventions and liquidity patterns
  • Solid grasp of statistical arbitrage concepts, term-structure pricing and dividend/basis modelling
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python preferred); familiarity with SQL or C++ a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to digest large data sets, act decisively under pressure and communicate clearly with tech-savvy colleagues
  • Fluent English required
