Test Engineering Manager

The Test Engineering Manager will lead the development and execution of testing strategies for MEMS and ASIC products, ensuring compliance with customer and industry standards. This position plays a pivotal role in the testing phase of product development, from new product introduction (NPI) to high-volume manufacturing. The responsibilities for this role span technical leadership, project management, team management, and cross-functional collaboration. The Test Engineering Manager will report directly to the Director of Operations - Asia and will be expected to work a total of 40 hours per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Lead the development and optimization of MEMS and ASIC chip testing methodologies.
• Oversee the creation and execution of MEMS test programs and product qualification plans, ensuring alignment with customer and company standards.
• Drive the New Product Introduction (NPI) process from a testing perspective, including test program development, characterization, and release for production.
• Lead cross-functional teams to resolve product testing and qualification issues, facilitating effective communication with internal technical teams.
• Collaborate with design, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment on technical requirements, timelines, and production testing goals.
• Manage and guide the team on test time reduction and test program optimization to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Oversee the design and implementation of test hardware.
• Drive continuous yield improvement and cost efficiency through effective testing strategies.
• Proactively identify risks in the product testing lifecycle and maintain detailed documentation of development milestones and issue resolutions.
• Work with the SQE team to oversee supplier performance related to testing activities and resolve any production testing issues.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• BS in Engineering or equivalent with 10 years of Engineering work in the Semiconductor Industry.
• Strong understanding of MEMS and ASIC chip testing methodologies.
• Proven experience in MEMS test program development, NPI development procedures, and test program release for production.
• Demonstrated ability in test time reduction and test program optimization.
• Solid knowledge of test hardware.
• Experience with various industry standards such as AEC, JEDEC, ISO, and RoHS.
• Strong foundation in MEMS and semiconductor processes.
• Skilled in new product introduction (NPI) and ramp-up planning.
• Excellent interpersonal, coordination, and communication skills to lead teams across engineering, operations, and suppliers.
• Proficiency in data analysis (e.g., JMP) for yield, product, and cost optimization.
• Familiarity with quality tools such as 8D, fishbone diagrams, 5 Whys, PPAP, and PFMEA.
• Ability to work effectively across different global time zones.
• Familiarity with the ETS-88 test system is a plus.
