Purpose of the role
To support the development of audits aligned to the bank's standards and objectives by working collaboratively with colleagues, providing accurate information and recommendations, and complying with policies and procedures.
Accountabilities
- Audit development and delivery support, including financial statements, accounting practices, operational processes, IT systems and risk management.
- Identification of operational risks to support the delivery of the Barclays Internal Audit (BIA) Audit Plan through risk assessments.
- Assessment of internal control effectiveness and their capability to identify and mitigate risk aligned to regulatory requirements.
- Communication of key findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including the Audit Owner, senior managers and directors.
- Identification of regulatory news and industry trends/developments to provide timely insight and recommendations for best practice.

Step into the role of Vice President at Barclays Internal Audit (BIA) Taiwan, where you will act as the Taiwan Head of Audit for Barclays Securities Taiwan Limited and play a pivotal role in supporting the Greater China Head. You will oversee day-to-day audit operations, lead the execution of audits, review and challenge audit documentation, and facilitate client discussions on audit outcomes. As a key member of the Taiwan Management Team, you will represent BIA in senior management forums, engage with regulators, and champion a culture of integrity, excellence, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the development and delivery of Taiwan audit plan, both regulatory driven and risk-based perspectives.
- Provide leadership and guidance to regional team members, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, delivering clear insights and recommendations on risk and control matters.
- Represent BIA in regulatory engagements and ensure compliance with local and global standards.
- Actively contribute as a member of the Taiwan Management Team, participating in strategic decision-making, governance discussions, and cross-functional initiatives to support the overall business objectives.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of relevant audit or risk management experience within investment banking or related financial services.
- Proven ability to lead and support the creation of audit plans, conduct business monitoring, and risk assessments.
- Strong knowledge of the Taiwan regulatory and compliance environment, with experience in managing regulatory interactions.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese
- Holder of Senior Securities Specialist license is mandatory; additional professional certifications such as CIA, CPA, ACCA, or CISA are highly desirable.
This role is regulated by Securities and Futures Bureau, FSC.
