A leading AI-powered quality control technology company is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to spearhead the growth and development of their engineering hub in Taipei City. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to play a pivotal role in shaping world-class industrial AI products that are transforming manufacturing quality across the globe. You will be entrusted with guiding a talented, diverse team of engineers, collaborating seamlessly across international time zones, and driving the technical roadmap for both current and next-generation AI vision systems. The organisation offers a supportive environment where your expertise will have high visibility and significant impact, alongside competitive compensation, equity, and benefits. If you are passionate about fostering excellence, nurturing talent, and making a tangible difference in the future of industrial automation, this is the perfect role for you.

  • Take charge of a key global engineering hub based in Taiwan, collaborating directly with teams across APAC, LATAM, and North America to deliver industry-leading AI solutions.
  • Shape innovative products that are redefining manufacturing quality standards worldwide, leveraging cutting-edge hardware and best-in-class AI models.
  • Enjoy flexible working opportunities within a fast-growing company that values inclusive culture, supportive leadership, and personal growth.

What you'll do:

As Software Engineering Manager, you will be at the heart of a thriving engineering hub in Taipei City. Your day-to-day responsibilities will revolve around empowering your team through thoughtful guidance and mentorship while ensuring smooth coordination with colleagues across continents. You will play an instrumental role in steering the technical direction of advanced AI vision products by overseeing feature roadmaps, managing releases, and maintaining high standards of delivery. Success in this position hinges on your ability to facilitate effective communication between distributed teams, adapt quickly to changing priorities, and cultivate an environment where every engineer feels valued and supported. By championing process improvements and nurturing a culture rooted in excellence and inclusivity, you will help drive innovation that sets new benchmarks for manufacturing quality worldwide.

  • Guide and nurture a team of remote and hybrid software engineers by providing mentorship, support, and clear direction to ensure their professional growth and success.
  • Coordinate closely with cross-functional teams located in Brazil and the US to align on project goals, share knowledge, and foster a collaborative approach to product development.
  • Oversee the execution of the technical feature roadmap for both current and future AI vision products by prioritising tasks and managing resources effectively.
  • Establish robust release structures while managing sprints and tracking performance metrics to guarantee predictable, high-quality deliveries that meet organisational standards.
  • Define detailed requirements for new features and improvements by setting context and priorities for your team while reporting progress regularly to senior leadership.
  • Facilitate seamless collaboration across multiple time zones by adapting communication styles and schedules to accommodate colleagues in Brazil, Taiwan, and the US West Coast.
  • Periodically travel as needed to support team members or work directly with customers to ensure successful implementation of solutions and strengthen relationships.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, ownership, and inclusivity within your team by encouraging open communication, shared learning opportunities, and mutual respect among all members.
  • Champion process improvements by identifying bottlenecks or inefficiencies in workflows and implementing strategies that enhance productivity without compromising quality.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for Software Engineering Manager brings substantial experience leading engineering teams through complex product lifecycles within fast-evolving environments. Your background should include hands-on involvement with production software delivery-preferably related to embedded systems or industrial automation-and deep familiarity with agile methodologies such as sprint management. Your interpersonal skills will be crucial as you guide remote engineers from different cultures towards shared goals while maintaining transparent communication channels. A proven ability to define project requirements collaboratively ensures alignment between technical execution and business objectives. Your comfort navigating uncertainty allows you to make sound decisions under pressure while remaining sensitive to the needs of your team. Above all else, your commitment to fostering an inclusive atmosphere where everyone can thrive will set you apart as an inspiring leader.

  • Demonstrated experience managing software or firmware engineering teams for at least three years within high-growth organisations where adaptability is essential.
  • A minimum of seven years' professional background working in software companies with exposure to production-grade product delivery cycles.
  • Proven track record delivering production software products-ideally within embedded systems, computer vision technologies, or industrial automation sectors.
  • Hands-on expertise establishing release structures as well as managing sprints while measuring engineering performance against defined objectives.
  • At least two years' experience defining requirements for projects, setting priorities collaboratively with stakeholders, and reporting progress clearly to leadership teams.
  • Comfortable operating as a self-starter who thrives when working across remote teams; able to manage ambiguity thoughtfully while making informed decisions even with incomplete information.
  • Exceptional English communication skills-both written and verbal-that enable you to connect effectively with global colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
