Microsoft Silicon and Cloud Hardware Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) is the team behind Microsoft's expanding Cloud Infrastructure and responsible for powering Microsoft's "Intelligent Cloud" mission. Within the Azure platform, we in the Hardware Health Service team are tasked with designing, implementing, and operating globally scalable cloud service which captures millions of hardware metrics from the world-wide Azure's hardware fleet, and helps predict and detect anomalies and failures with the aim of preventing such failures from causing a negative impact to Azure customer. We focus on creating solutions essential for our cloud service platforms while minimizing the total cost of ownership (TCO) and providing great customer experience despite hardware unreliability.

a Principal Engineering Manager
to be a part of the fast paced and exciting business of Azure. This is your chance to be part of the most exciting end-to-end teams within Microsoft.  We are looking for a highly motivated Software Technical leaders with a track record in Cloud Service development to help us develop and light up innovative hardware solutions that powers Azure and make our world-class cloud infrastructure even better.  To be successful in this role, you must have a great track record of delivering quality results to customers, an engineering mindset, an innate aptitude for agility, and technical excellence in software engineering.

Responsibilities

• Experience designing/architecting (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scalability) of new or existing system.
• Experience with software development life cycle, including best-practices, coding standards, architecture review, code reviews, build processes, continuous deployment, testing and operations.
• Lead a talented software engineering team in developing and implementing end-to-end software system.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-geo teams, including hardware engineers and product managers, to define software requirements and ensure alignment with product goals.
• Oversights of the entire software development lifecycle, from design to deployment, including code reviews, testing, and maintenance.
• Drive innovation in software design to enhance performance, reliability, and security of hardware products.
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
• 10+ year of experience managing software development engineering team including Windows and Azure Cloud development methodology and tools
• Proven track record of collaboration managing cross geo engineering team in a multinational environment
• Proven experience of driving product developments life cycle and platform features
• 5+ year of proven track record of successful managing software project delivery and team leadership
• Excellent communication for both written and spoken
