Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced Operations & Commercial Manager / Senior Manager to support the Asia Regions Operations Director in driving operational and commercial excellence across Taiwan and other regional Asia countries as necessary. This role combines operational leadership with strategic commercial oversight, ensuring projects meet performance, quality, and profitability targets while driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate project operations to ensure deliverables are met and productivity targets achieved.
• Collaborate with Finance to address project profitability, budget adherence, and performance issues.
• Review, implement, and manage operational processes, procedures, and controls aligned with WSP's strategies and values.
• Support the rollout of new systems and project delivery initiatives, ensuring adoption of best practices and effective change management.
• Monitor project performance, utilization, and conduct periodic reviews of margins and budgets, taking corrective actions as needed.
• Determine manpower requirements and ensure optimal deployment of resources.
• Maintain high technical and production quality standards, ensuring services meet WSP and client expectations.
• Ensure operations comply with legal requirements and established regulations.
• Enforce Risk Assessment, Ethics, Sustainability, and Corporate Social Responsibility values.
• Liaise with Global Risk, Ethics, and Compliance Officer (Asia Pacific) on corporate policies and queries.
• Drive best practice commercial management, understanding performance trends and delivering innovative solutions.
• Ensure commercial aspects of proposals and tenders are optimized, with risks identified and managed from proposal to closure.
• Work with legal teams to ensure legal protection in all commercial agreements and activities.
• Provide commercial management support, including negotiation, claim management, and risk mitigation.
• Prepare and review commercial submissions for major proposals, coordinating input from stakeholders.
• Actively interrogate project portfolio performance data and develop strategies for intervention as required.
• Integrate with operations, legal, finance, quality, compliance, and other corporate functions.
• Maintain the WSP Asia commercial management systems including associated tools, practices, and guides.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, operations management, legal, or a related field.
• Proven experience in operations and/or commercial management or leadership roles.
• Proven track record of driving operational and commercial excellence and implementing successful process improvements.
• Experience in negotiating contracts with government departments and contractors.
• Experience in developing and delivering complex projects and robust project/risk management practices.
• Experience in developing commercially robust major project proposals and developing commercial robust claims
• Current practicing certificate or membership of an associated professional body preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of industry regulatory rules and legislations.
• Flexibility to travel within Asia as required.
• Proficiency in English and Mandarin
