Your Impact
In this role, you will blend consulting skills with McKinsey's digital solutions and industry knowledge to serve clients on Research and Development (R&D) projects. You will work in an intellectually challenging environment, developing strong problem-solving and leadership skills.

Your primary responsibilities may include:

• Assessing R&D, product development efficiency of client and drive R&D productivity enhancement
• Enhancing product design effectiveness and quality attributes
• Co-developing digital, generative AI, AI use cases to help client drive overall R&D competitiveness
• Collaborating with strategy and sales team to optimize product portfolio and technology roadmap
• Elevating clients' overall R&D performance jointly with cross-functional team in IoT hub through Digital Transformation Programs
• Collaborating with McKinsey's global network and functional practices to develop cutting-edge knowledge in R&D
• Leading various initiatives to build proprietary knowledge on R&D topics

You will work closely with clients, often on-site, to tackle complex challenges. Our robust training, coaching, and mentoring programs will support your professional growth.

Based in our Taipei office, you will be part of McKinsey's Industrial IoT Hub. Our team is dedicated to unlocking the potential of the Internet of Things and digital solutions. Our team excels in delivering end-to-end Industrial IoT transformations across R&D, Procurement, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Service Operations Automation. Our approach spans the full product lifecycle, and we serve clients from diagnostics to strategy, solution implementation, and ongoing operations.

Your Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree required; master's degree is a plus
• 3+ years of experience in R&D, product development, product cost optimization, product design, manufacturing, value engineering, DFMA, prototyping, supply chain management or related engineering background; for candidates with master's degree in engineering or management, 1-2 years of experience is acceptable
• Proven experience in cross-functional team environments
• Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to structure and solve problems
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Strong communication skills in English and Mandarin, both verbal and written
