Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Experience with infrastructure systems and Linux.
- Experience with software development in C++ or Golang programming languages.
- Experience with building large-scale distributed systems in the infrastructure technical space.

As a Software Engineer, you will be part of a dedicated development team. You will design, prototype, implement and test APIs and large-scale distributed backend systems to deploy, protect, configure, and schedule node software across Google's production fleet. You will work closely with SRE to proactively ensure quality and performance. You will gather requirements from component maintainers, service owners, release coordinators, and other stakeholders, and create innovative tools and solutions to make their jobs easier and move key metrics. You will be a key player in the deployment of the latest custom-built Google hardware, and in all phases of the machine fleet lifecycle, from turning up to repairs to decommission.
