Introduction to the job
The Junior IT Operations Lead plays a key role in supporting the stability, efficiency, and continuous improvement of ABS IT services. This position is ideal for someone with foundational IT experience who is ready to take on coordination and leadership responsibilities in a dynamic operational environment

Role and responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain IT systems to ensure optimal performance
  • Coordinate incident response and assist in problem resolution and root cause analysis
  • Collaborate with service desk teams to manage ticket queues and meet SLAs
  • Track and report operational metrics (e.g., MTTR, uptime, servicenow ticket volume).
  • Maintain accurate documentation of systems and operational procedures
  • Support change management and post-implementation reviews
  • Identify and implement Lean opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency
  • Participate in cross-functional improvement initiatives and Kaizen activities

Education and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in IT operations, infrastructure support, or service desk roles.
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices and service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).

Skills

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of networking, server administration, and cloud services.
  • Experience with monitoring tools and incident management.
  • Ability to identify inefficiencies and contribute to process improvements.
  • Exposure to scripting or automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is a plu

Other information

  • This role offers growth opportunities into senior operational leadership.
  • Occasional off-hours support may be required for critical incidents or maintenance.
  • Certification in ITIL, Lean, or cloud platforms is advantageous
