We are hiring for a developer role on Footwear Innovation Team to expand our opportunity to run more innovations in Asia with higher efficiency and effectiveness. The role of Sr. Professional, Footwear Development, Innovation will be a pioneer in exploring latest technologies, materials, and processes in Taiwan and APAC region for footwear. This role will work with regional Innovation partners, factories and suppliers included, to create new footwear applications with new textile, chemical materials, processes, constructions, and any other novel concepts inside and outside the industry. This role will need to think and act with an open mind, facilitate teamwork with diverse team members across regions, work together to realize novel ideas and creative solutions. To achieve the job requirements, this person needs to be a team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

• Collaborate with Footwear Innovation team in Asia and USA to develop, test, and verify new technologies for all product categories. Assure all products meet UA's performance and quality standards.
• Execute Footwear Innovation project tasks, facilitate meetings, oversee trials, and lead problem solving leveraging factory or supplier engineering resources.
• Regularly visit footwear material/machine suppliers, and attend trade shows to explore new ideas and solutions inside and outside the industry. Identify potential opportunities for future innovation and follow up with suppliers for new developments.
• Support visualizing new concepts through cobbling and prototyping with Innovation partners. New materials, constructions, processes, and user scenarios are included.
• Explore Innovation opportunities through ideation utilizing local marketing resource, including professional athletes, school athletes, and target consumers.
• Build presentation for technology introduction with global Innovation team. Support documentation for project transition from Innovation to Development.

• Basic understanding of footwear material, construction, process, and other fundamentals.
• Capable of executing footwear projects tasks involving process and tooling engineering, costing, new material and chemical compound testing.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Able to act as TEAM PLAYER and work with Under Armour cross-functional team and external Innovation partners.
• Excellent problem-solving skills. Able to drive teamwork towards solutions efficiently and effectively.
• Open-minded in technology exploration. Willing to take challenges and learn in unknown space.
• Excellent English writing and speaking skills to organize and communicate daily tasks via email and conference call. Comfortable with presenting to native English speakers.
• Knowledge in material or chemical compound is preferred.

• 4+ years of experience in Footwear or Chemical, Textile related industries with basic understanding of footwear fundamentals.
• Experience in sports footwear Engineering or Development is prioritized.
• Educational background in Textile, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design is preferred

• Flexible to accept meeting in early morning or evening to connect with teammates and partners in different time zones.
• Flexible to travel locally and internationally as needed.
