We are looking for a talented individual with a strong work ethic to be part of our regional team and manage communications efforts in Northeast Asia.
This role may be based in Tokyo, Seoul or Taipei.
Reporting to the Head of Communications for Asia & India, this role will focus on enhancing brand equity, developing and managing communications efforts to support business strategy, and cultivating and partnering both internal and external stakeholders to deliver intended outcomes across the region.

The candidate will be responsible for providing incisive counsel and managing a full spectrum of communications activity including but not limited to media relations, digital and social media management, and marketing and marketing communications in collaboration with relevant partners. They will also support event communications and have custody of social impact and community outreach.

About the ideal candidate:

You are a driven, intelligent, and proactive self-starter with excellent attention to detail who possesses the following skills/traits:

  • Solid media relations with strong social and digital media management expertise; specific experience within Northeast Asia is advantageous
  • Effective communications planning and program execution practice
  • Familiarity with social impact and community outreach, as well as marketing and marketing communications
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain close working relationships with stakeholders including but not limited to media, think tanks, social commentators, public affairs officers and others as appropriate
  • Ability to perceive the 'bigger picture' in parallel with internal developments in order to direct and generate positive brand awareness
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks in tandem
  • Cultural and political objectivity and appropriate social and cultural nous with demonstrated experience having navigated accordingly in applicable business environments
  • Relevant experience in working with or for a multi-national company, ideally in a matrixed organizational structure
  • Experience with managing and guiding external resources for e.g., communications-, marketing- and related consultants and agencies.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a professional environment and with demonstrable experience in interacting and counselling senior executives
  • Comfort with working in virtual settings when required, including collaborating with colleagues in the U.S. and other global markets
  • Experience with aerospace and defense, or similar industry is highly beneficial

Essential requirements:

  • An experienced professional with 8 years or more of relevant practice and qualifications
  • High awareness of global security issues with a strong interest in and knowledge of regional dynamics
  • Oral and written fluency in English is required, plus proficiency in another regional language such as Japanese, Korean or Taiwanese Mandarin is highly advantageous
