in British Council Taipei. The role involves supporting classroom learning, assisting the Teacher, and supervising Young Learners during breaks, pick-up and drop-off. As part of our expectations for general performance, staff should arrive punctually (30 minutes before class), wear the British Council vest, and remain respectful of others during breaks by not causing disruptions. Vigilance is essential—reading or using phones while on duty is discouraged. Team members are expected to attend at least one training session per term, speak English whenever possible, ask questions when uncertain, and maintain a professional yet positive rapport with young learners (e.g., firm but not harsh communication, avoiding physical contact like picking children up). In terms of safeguarding, all staff must help ensure a safe environment for under-18s by checking student and adult badges, completing the pick-up register accurately, reporting concerns promptly, and ensuring children are always supervised.
