Contract Manager

Project: Desalination Design & Built

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee overall quantity surveying function for a project, providing strategic cost advice and recommendations to the project management team.
  • Develop and implement effective cost control systems and procedures to monitor project expenditure.
  • Lead a team of quantity surveyors and provide guidance and mentorship to ensure high performance.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Analyze and validate contract variations, claims, and final accounts, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Collaborate with consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to resolve cost-related issues and maintain transparency.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities and value engineering initiatives.
  • Provide expert advice on contractual matters and interpret contract documents.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a relevant discipline.
  • 7 years of work experience, with 2 years of management experience on from contractor, consultancy, or client-side, preferably with exposure to civil projects.
  • Excellent understanding of contract administration, variations, claims, and final accounts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
