Overview

The Software Engineering team at Dell is responsible for delivering next-generation application enhancements and new products for a changing world. As a Chief Software Development Engineer, you will be part of this team, working at the cutting edge of technology to design and develop software for platforms, peripherals, applications, and diagnostics using advanced technologies, tools, and software engineering methodologies.

Responsibilities

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software based on the customer's business goals, needs, and general business environment, creating software solutions that meet the company's high standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Contributing to the design and architecture of high-quality, complex systems and software/storage environments

• Preparing, reviewing, and evaluating software/storage specifications for products and systems

• Contributing to the development and implementation of test strategies for complex software products and systems/for storage products and systems

Requirements

This role requires a strong background in software development, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Windows Driver and Software development, including kernel device driver experience within AI, system devices, and Windows services. Additionally, you should have a deep proficiency in C/C++ with a solid grasp of the Windows Driver Foundation (WDF), Windows Driver Model (WDM), AI architecture, Windows Operating System, and Kernel Debug. Experience in software/driver development/programming with Python, Shell Scripting, C#, C++, and Java is also required. Knowledge of Windows security features and driver signing processes is a must, along with MSFT Windows Driver development and deployment experience and strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Experience with handling multiple projects in NPI/Sustain based on different operating systems, tools, and hardware platforms is also desirable.
