At Peppy we're looking for a Senior Robotics Simulation Engineer to help us integrate Mujoco and NVIDIA Isaac Sim into our open-source robotics framework. Our mission is to create a rapid prototyping platform for semi-technical people.
What We're Looking For
The ideal profile has several years of experience with robotics simulation and systems integration.
Hands-on experience with Isaac Sim / Isaac Lab / Mujoco is mandatory.
We care more about hands-on industry experience, systems you've actually built, and problems you've solved than academic credentials.
• Experience with Rust, Python, robotics middleware, USD/URDF, simulation infrastructure, and headless simulation is particularly relevant.
• Experience working with VLMs/VLAs (Vision-Language-Action models) and/or WAMs (World Action Models) is also appreciated. We are looking for someone who can leverage LLMs to achieve the goals of the company. Our company values can be found here: https://sites.plane.so/pages/0dd361b57cdb4980a94a7749c8ab414e If you have the qualifications and you are aligned with those values, lets have a talk. What You'll Work On You'll take ownership of the simulation side of our stack, including:
• Integrating the Webasm version of Mujoco into our framework
• Integrating simulated robots, sensors, and environments
• Exposing simulation capabilities through our APIs and tooling
• Making sure our simulation emulates the real world as closely as possible
• Making sure simulations can run reliably both interactively and headlessly
• Improving the workflow for adding and testing new robots
• Helping us maintain consistency between simulated and real robot behavior
• Shaping the architecture and technical roadmap of our simulation stack You'll be our go-to person for anything related to simulation, so we're looking for someone comfortable making technical decisions rather than simply implementing predefined tasks. What Success Looks Like In your first six months, you'll have:
• Shipped support for multiple robots, sensors, and environments
• Built a robust headless simulation workflow that can run locally and in cloud environments
• Improved our tooling so adding and testing new robots becomes significantly easier
• Taken ownership of the simulation stack and influenced its technical roadmap with concrete improvements that ship to users How We Work This is a senior, full-time independent contractor position (40–50 hours/week), currently 100% remote with flexible hours. If you need a proper employment contract in Taiwan, we can also provide that. We are hiring people in the US or in Taiwan (preferred). The role may transition to a hybrid setup in the future as we open offices and expand access to physical robots. Good English proficiency is mandatory. We are a hire-fast/fire-fast company. If you are not a fit for the team, we will quickly let you know after a few weeks on the job. Interested? Send us a message with:
• Your location / timezone
• Your hourly rate
• A short summary of your experience with Mujoco/Isaac Sim or robotics simulation
• A link to your professional profile or previous work (GitHub, LinkedIn, portfolio, etc.) More about what we're building: https://docs.peppy.bot/quickstart/
