About the Role
As a Computational Linguist in our global pool, you are a linguistic architect helping us bridge the gap between human communication and machine logic. We look to you to analyze the deep structures of your native language, including syntax, semantics, and morphology, ensuring our AI models capture the true essence of human expression. At TELUS, your work directly influences how the world’s leading LLMs respect cultural identity through langu a g e.
Responsi bi l ities:Perform deep-dive linguistic audits on AI outputs to ensure grammatical precision and sema nticaccuracy.
Design and refine complex linguistic guidelines to help models master regional dialects, slang, and cul tural idioms.
Collaborate on Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT) projects by creating high-quality datasets that reflect the structural complexities of your n ative tongue.
Analyze how AI handles specialized writing systems (e.g., RTL) and provide architectural feedback to engineering teams to improve model rendering and c omp r ehe nsi on.
Q ua lifications:

Education:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, Computer Scienc e, or arelated field.
Language: Native-level fluency in at least onelanguage.
English Proficiency: Minimum B1 (Intermediate) level English for tech ni c al g uidel ine s.
RequiredSkills:In-depth know ledge of linguistic structures.
Experience with AI and ma chi ne lear nin g co n cepts.
PreferredSkills:Famil iarity with specialized writing systems.
Exp erience i n cr eat ing li nguistic datasets.
Pay range and compensation package: Currently, pay rates for experts range from $10
- $22 USD per hour. Ou r Payment terms ar e defin ed for each project.
