MUFG is seeking a Trade Support Analyst to join their team in Taiwan. This is an exciting opportunity for you to play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of trade product services, working closely with Relationship Managers and Business Developers to provide tailored solutions that meet customer needs. You will be at the heart of client interactions, ensuring smooth implementation of trade finance services and acting as a key point of contact throughout the process. The organisation offers a collaborative environment where your expertise will directly contribute to both customer satisfaction and branch revenue targets. With a focus on professional growth, this position provides exposure to a wide range of trade products and the chance to develop your skills in a supportive and inclusive workplace.
What you'll do:
As a Trade Support Analyst, you will immerse yourself in a dynamic environment where your ability to connect with clients and internal stakeholders will be essential. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating with Relationship Managers to understand customer requirements deeply so you can recommend appropriate trade products. You will manage the end-to-end process for implementing trade finance services—coordinating documentation, liaising with multiple parties inside and outside the organisation, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and documenting improvements along the way. Your attention to detail will be crucial as you oversee transaction processing across various trade instruments while maintaining open communication channels with clients for their daily queries. By nurturing these relationships and delivering exceptional service quality at every touchpoint, you will help drive increased product adoption while contributing positively to both customer satisfaction and business outcomes.
Collaborate with Relationship Managers to promote trade products by offering suitable solutions that address customers' business needs and support branch revenue objectives.
Act as the main point of contact during the implementation of trade finance services, coordinating between clients, their customers, suppliers, counterparties, and internal teams to ensure efficient execution.
Organise all activities related to documentary credits, export finance, factoring, forfeiting, import finance, and shipping guarantees to facilitate timely and smooth implementation processes for clients.
Document any changes to policies or procedures arising during client onboarding in order to enhance both customer experience and organisational operations while addressing local regulatory requirements.
Partner with Business Developers and Relationship Managers to provide expert guidance on completing and negotiating product agreements as well as utilising the organisation's suite of trade products and services.
Execute all middle- and back-office operational tasks required for accurate, timely processing of trade finance transactions across various products.
Monitor the processing of trade finance transactions including documentary collections, credits, export/import finance, factoring, forfeiting, and shipping guarantees; ensure effective client reporting for business monitoring purposes.
Respond promptly to daily customer queries regarding trade products or related matters, providing clear information and proactive support.
Maintain strong relationships with customers by increasing product utilisation rates and proactively identifying solutions that meet evolving client needs.
Deliver consistently high levels of service quality to both internal colleagues and external clients.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Trade Support Analyst position brings proven experience working within banking or financial services environments—particularly those involving trade finance operations. Your background should include hands-on exposure to a variety of trade products such as documentary credits or export/import financing. You possess excellent communication skills in English (and ideally Japanese), enabling you to build rapport quickly with clients from different cultural backgrounds. Your strong organisational skills allow you to juggle multiple priorities seamlessly while maintaining meticulous attention to detail when handling sensitive documentation or regulatory requirements. Above all else, your collaborative mindset means you thrive in team settings where knowledge sharing is encouraged—and where your commitment to delivering high-quality service makes a tangible difference for both customers and colleagues alike.
Minimally 1 year of working experience in a bank with demonstrated knowledge of trade products and services is essential for success in this role
Experience handling documentary credits, export/import finance transactions, factoring, forfeiting or shipping guarantees would be advantageous for understanding complex client needs.
High written and verbal proficiency in English is necessary for communicating clearly with clients from diverse backgrounds as well as preparing documentation accurately.
Excellent interpersonal skills and high proficiency in Japanese is required to serve Japanese-speaking clients or partners within the organisation's network.
Strong organisational abilities are needed so you can manage multiple concurrent activities efficiently without compromising accuracy or timeliness.
Attention to detail is vital when documenting policy changes or monitoring transaction processing so that compliance standards are always met.
A collaborative approach ensures you work effectively within cross-functional teams focused on delivering outstanding results for customers.
