As the Test Engineering Manager you will be a key member of the Operations Engineering team based in Taiwan. In this role, you will support new product introduction (NPI) as well as sustaining and continuous improvement activities related to test yield, cost, and quality. You will also drive debugging and issue resolution across assembly, packaging, and test solutions throughout the product lifecycle. Success in this role requires a strong background in semiconductor manufacturing, assembly, and test processes, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with global vendors and internal teams.
Job Responsibilities
Sustain and drive continuous improvement in test yield, scrap cost, test quality, test cost, and test time for released products Serve as the first line of defense, working with OSAT partners to quickly identify and resolve root causes of assembly, packaging, probe, and final test yield issues from NPI through production Act as liaison with indie's NPI project teams to ensure all manufacturing requirements are in place at OSAT sites, including test hardware, documentation, test program transfer, release processes, and MSA/Gage R&R studies Manage and coordinate ATE hardware/software setup, debug, and maintenance (e.g., handler, prober), as well as calibration, inventory control, and reference sample management at test locations Contribute to alternate assembly and test sourcing strategies, serving as the technical lead for test platform conversions of released products Establish and monitor non-conformance criteria, ensuring timely disposition of production materials on hold by indie and OSAT Drive operational efficiency, continuous improvements, and KPI achievement across the supply chainMain Requirements
BS in Electrical Engineering or related field (MS degree preferred) Strong background in automotive process flow, qualification, and quality control within assembly and test operations Hands-on experience with ATE probe and final test hardware/software, lab equipment, and mechanical systems Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and subcontractors (foundries, assembly/test houses, reliability and qualification vendors) Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, JMP, YieldHub, or equivalent statistical software Solid understanding of digital, RF, and analog fundamentals, along with design-for-test and design-for-manufacturing concepts Expertise in semiconductor test methodologies across digital, mixed-signal, and PMIC devices, with hands-on VLSI ATE experience; system-level and RF/SoC experience is a plus Preferred experience with Advantest V93000 SoC Tester (Smartest 7 or Smartest 8) Fluent in English and Mandarin, both written and spoken 7+ years of experience in ATE test development and production supportindie Semiconductor and its subsidiaries are equal opportunity, inclusive employers and will consider all applicants without regard to age, ancestry, color, marital status, medical condition, mental or physical disability, national origin, race, religion, political and/or third-party affiliation, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, military or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
