ONS Package Manager

Summary:

Synera Renewable Energy ("SRE") is a leading renewable energy developer in Taiwan, with a pipeline of offshore wind projects across Taiwan and other parts of Asia such as Japan and Korea.  SRE is a portfolio company of a fund managed by Stonepeak, a US-based infrastructure fund with regional headquarter in Hong Kong. 

In the role as Package Manager, you will be responsible for the onshore package for an offshore wind project.

The role is expected to develop as the relevant projects go through early, and later stages of development and into execution. Initial focus will be more on concept development, planning, commercial input and permitting support, whereas later focus will be on procurement and delivery of a package.

Scope Description:

As a key member of the Synera Renewable Energy team, your role will encompass the following:

2. Manage activities of the Onshore package of offshore wind farms throughout all project phases.
3. Prepare contract technical specifications and requirement in support of procurement activities.
4. Assess proposals of onshore suppliers and contractors during the procurement process.
5. Working with the procurement team, provide input into commercial terms relating to onshore ; contract terms, insurance and warranty requirements.
6. Lead contract negotiations and contract management in close collaborations with the commercial and legal management functions.
7. Manage onshore interfaces with other packages, functions and suppliers.
8. Support, co-ordinate and supervise onshore suppliers and related contractors as the project representative during the design, manufacturing, transport, installation, construction and commissioning phases of the onshore by way of project and site meetings.
9. Coordinate technical queries during the design, manufacturing, installation, construction and commissioning phases.
10. Monitor and report on project construction works, including onshore equipment manufacture, transportation, loading, installation, termination and testing activities.
11. Ensure that the onshore suppliers and related contractors comply with the requirements stipulated by the contract.
12. Coordinate and/or complete site inspections to monitor and record progress and quality against contractual requirements.
13. Ensure that health, safety and environmental site rules and best practices are observed.
14. Manage the assessment and rectification of defects during the construction phase.
15. Act as first point of contact for project colleagues, suppliers, contractors and other project stakeholders for any topics (of technical nature or regarding project management) which relate to the onshore.
16. Regularly report to the wider project team on progress within the onshore package.
17. Champion a safety and quality culture, led by example and ensure this remains a top priority within the team.
18. Lead associated internal/external team and facilitate the necessary communication, workshops, reviews etc.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

1. Experience in project management of high voltage (69kV or 161kV or 220kV) onshore engineering which includes substation and cables design, supply and installation projects in Taiwan. Experience in offshore wind project development is preferred.
2. Knowledge of Project Management and Execution, and preferably PMI/PMP certified. Holds a Bachelor Degree of Electrical engineering or Civil engineering. Advanced degree is preferred.
3. At least eight years of technical experience in offshore wind cable design, manufacturing, and installation. Experience managing the concept development, FEED and detailed design of cables. Experience in tendering, negotiation, and contractor selection
4. General electrical transmission understanding and experience with offshore wind electrical system and wider infrastructure. Knowledge and experience of managing HSE issues in similar onshore engineering. 
5. Broad understanding of general offshore wind development and construction, e.g. markets, supply chain, permitting and business case drivers.
6. Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively.
7. Proficient English skills - able to communicate in both speaking and writing; fluent Chinese skills is plus.
8. Willing to relocate to Taiwan and to travel internationally in Europe and Asia for supplier visits and fabrication site visits as required.
