Business Function

GSTAR (Group Strategy, Transformation, Analytics & Research) focuses on several key areas, including improving customer and employee experience, driving productivity through technology and operations, incorporating "Doing Well by Doing Good" into business strategies, elevating DBS' thought leadership, and establishing and improving data management

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Big Data Analysts to support the Group Strategy, Transformation, Analytics & Research (GSTAR) function within DBS Bank
  • Develop and implement data-driven strategies to support the bank's strategic initiatives and business objectives
  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of large and complex data sets to uncover insights and trends that can inform decision-making
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address business challenges through the application of advanced analytics and data science techniques
  • Mentor and develop the skills of the Big Data Analyst team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, actionable insights and recommendations to key stakeholders within the organization
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in data analytics, and implement innovative solutions to enhance the bank's competitive edge

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in data analytics, with a proven track record of leading successful data-driven initiatives in the banking or financial services industry
  • Expertise in managing and analyzing large, complex data sets using a variety of tools and techniques, including SQL, Python, R, and data visualization software
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to translate data insights into actionable business strategies
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to build and motivate high-performing teams
  • Familiarity with the banking industry, including an understanding of key products, services, and regulatory requirements
