Job Responsibilities

* **Team Leadership & Management:**
* Lead, mentor, and manage a team of firmware and software test engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
* Conduct performance reviews, provide regular feedback, and support the professional growth and development of team members.
* Allocate resources effectively and manage project timelines and deliverables for the test engineering team.
* **Test Strategy & Execution:**
* Define, develop, and implement comprehensive test strategies, plans, and procedures for embedded firmware, software, and integrated systems across various products.
* Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of automated test frameworks, scripts, and tools.
* Drive the execution of functional, performance, reliability, stress, and regression testing.
* Collaborate with design engineering, hardware engineering, and program management teams to ensure seamless integration and thorough testing throughout the product lifecycle.
* **Quality Assurance & Process Improvement:**
* Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for testing effectiveness and product quality.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives for test processes, methodologies, and tools.
* Ensure adherence to industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards.
* Actively participate in design reviews, FMEAs, and risk assessments to identify potential issues early in the development cycle.
* **Reporting & Communication:**
* Communicate test results, issues, and risks clearly and concisely to stakeholders, including engineering leadership and project managers.
* Prepare detailed test reports, defect summaries, and quality metrics.
* Facilitate cross-functional communication to resolve technical challenges and drive product improvements.

Job Qualifications

* **Education:**
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Master's degree preferred.
* **Experience:**
* 8+ years of experience in firmware or software testing/QA, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
* Proven experience in developing and implementing comprehensive test strategies for embedded systems.
* Strong background in developing and maintaining automated test frameworks and scripts (e.g., Python, C/C++, LabVIEW, scripting languages).
* Experience with various communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet, USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi).
* Familiarity with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and other embedded system validation techniques.
* Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
* **Technical Skills:**
* Deep understanding of embedded systems architecture, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and microcontroller programming.
* Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g., C++, C#, Java) and scripting languages (e.g., Python).
* Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and various testing methodologies (e.g., Agile, V-model).
* Ability to read and interpret schematics and datasheets.
* **Soft Skills:**
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with a keen attention to detail.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
* Demonstrated ability to build and motivate high-performing teams.
