This Firmware Engineer will specialize in networking protocols to join our wireless router firmware team. This role will focus on implementing and optimizing TR-069/TR-369/TR-181 and MQTT protocols in our LinksysWRT and prplWrt-based router products, with potential expansion to RDK-based solutions.

As a Firmware Engineer, you will:

  • Develop and maintain TR-069/TR-369/TR-181 protocol implementations in router firmware
  • Design and implement MQTT systems for device management and IoT connectivity
  • Create robust protocol test frameworks within our CI/CD pipeline
  • Troubleshoot complex protocol and interoperability issues
  • Document protocol interfaces and integrations for internal reference
  • Evaluate and potentially implement RDK protocol components for future products
  • Collaborate with the architecture team on protocol feature implementation

We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in embedded firmware development
  • Strong knowledge of TR-069, TR-369, and TR-181 protocols and implementations
  • Experience with MQTT protocol implementation in embedded systems
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded environments
  • Understanding of router management systems and remote configuration
  • Experience with OpenWrt/LinksysWRT development
  • Knowledge of open source license management and compliance in product development
  • Experience with prplWrt protocol integration
  • Familiarity with RDK management interfaces
  • Knowledge of device management security best practices
  • Experience with automated protocol testing methodologies
  • Understanding of IoT protocols beyond MQTT (XMPP, CoAP, etc.)
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools for protocol optimization
  • Experience with protocol performance optimization in resource-constrained environments
  • Ability to evaluate and integrate open source components while managing license obligations
