Do you thrive in a fast paced and ever-changing environment? If you answered YES to these questions, then our team is looking for you The AWS Board Core Design & Services team drives system innovation in the servers used by all of Amazon Web Services, including EC2, S3 and CloudFront. Our engineers solve the hardest problems that fuse software, hardware, and the cloud. We take big bets on new concepts, enabling AWS services to continue to revolutionize the industry.
What you will do: As a member of the AWS Board Core Design & Services team based in Taiwan, you will own the sustaining engineering efforts and NPI validation supervision for server components at ODM partners. You will be responsible for hardware validation, quality management, and technical issue resolution during mass production. You will collaborate with ODM teams to ensure smooth transition from NPI to mass production, while maintaining AWS's high standards for quality and reliability. You'll provide leadership in production validation processes and work closely with US-based design teams to implement design improvements. This role requires strong technical expertise combined with excellent project management skills to coordinate between AWS internal teams and ODM partners.
Why it matters: Public cloud IT services represent the majority of growth in the overall IT services market and will continue to do so for several years to come. The scale of AWS creates a unique opportunity for differentiated hardware that will directly benefit customers.
Why you will love it: You will build next-generation hardware that powers the cloud. You will deliver improvements for our customers and have a direct impact on our bottom line. You will be part of a growing, fast paced, and fun team. You will have ownership for the implementation of your work.
A day in the life
Hardware engineers within the AWS Board Core Design & Services team in Taiwan focus on sustaining engineering and NPI validation activities, including: managing ODM validation processes, reviewing test coverage and results, conducting failure analysis, driving corrective actions, and ensuring smooth mass production. You will coordinate between US-based design teams and local ODM partners, review production test data, optimize manufacturing processes, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires balancing technical depth with project management skills to ensure AWS hardware quality standards are maintained throughout the product lifecycle.
