Sustainable Packaging Assistant

Position Summary:

The Sustainable Packaging Assistant assists in developing, evaluating, and improving environmentally friendly packaging solutions for the company's products, supporting the application of sustainable materials and optimizing the packaging lifecycle. This position plays a key role in driving the company's green transformation, reducing environmental impact, and enhancing the brand's sustainable image. It is suitable for individuals who are environmentally conscious and interested in design and materials science.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in researching and evaluating renewable, biodegradable, or recyclable packaging materials.

Support the design and sample testing of new environmentally friendly packaging.

Collect packaging production and usage data for carbon footprint or life cycle analysis (LCA).

Assist in communicating with suppliers to ensure that packaging materials comply with environmental regulations and company standards.

Participate in developing packaging reduction, reuse, and recycling programs.

Keep track of industry sustainable packaging trends and technological innovations.

Assist in preparing packaging test reports, certification applications, and internal reporting materials.

Support the daily administrative, inventory, and document management work of the packaging department.

Job Requirements:

Technical secondary school diploma or above in Materials Science, Industrial Design, Environmental Engineering, Packaging Engineering, or a related field.

Understanding the properties of common packaging materials (plastics, paper, metals, bio-based materials, etc.).

Excellent data entry, organization, and document management skills.

Interested in environmental protection, the circular economy, and green supply chains.

Detail-oriented, with strong teamwork and cross-departmental communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Internship/work experience in packaging design, production, or sustainable development.

Familiar with packaging sustainability standards (e.g., FSC, ISO 18601, EPR, REACH, etc.).

Understanding of Packaging Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodologies.

Proficient in basic design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, SolidWorks, etc.).

Fluent in English reading and writing, able to read environmental regulations and international packaging standards.

Work Environment:

Office and laboratory combined work environment.

Collaboration with production, design, procurement, and environmental departments may be necessary.

It is essential to monitor market trends and regulatory updates to support the company's green packaging strategy.
