Lightmatter is (re)inventing the future of computing with light
Lightmatter is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Business Development Director to join our team. In this highly visible role, you'll be the face and voice of Lightmatter in Taiwan, taking ownership of our most strategic hyperscale accounts and driving new opportunities in one of our most critical markets. You will be responsible for cultivating partnerships, expanding Lightmatter's presence, and guiding the full business development lifecycle—from initial engagement to long-term strategic growth.
Responsibilities
- Market & Business Development: Identify, cultivate, and expand new business opportunities in Taiwan and the broader APAC region. Build market intelligence to shape Lightmatter's go-to-market approach and strengthen our competitive position.
- Strategic Account Leadership: Develop and execute account strategies for TW based ASIC design houses, ensuring alignment with both customer priorities and Lightmatter's business objectives.
- Partnership & Ecosystem Building: Forge strong relationships with local partners, suppliers, and ecosystem stakeholders to accelerate the adoption of Lightmatter's technologies.
- Customer Relationship Management: Establish and maintain trusted advisor relationships with C-suite executives, procurement teams, and technical leaders, ensuring long-term engagement and loyalty.
- Cross-Functional Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact between customers and internal teams (engineering, product, marketing, finance, legal), ensuring seamless collaboration and customer satisfaction.
- Solution Positioning: Leverage deep knowledge of datacenter and AI/ML infrastructure to translate customer challenges into Lightmatter solutions, driving value for both sides.
- Voice of Customer: Deliver insights and feedback to internal product and business units to guide strategy, roadmap, and product definition.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in semiconductor, datacenter, or high-performance computing, with at least 5 years in business development, sales, or strategic account management.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
- Strong understanding of datacenter infrastructure (CPU, GPU, networking) with demonstrated technical acumen.
- Proven ability to develop markets, build strategic partnerships, and drive complex business cycles, with a track record of revenue growth and closing new opportunities.
- Self-motivated and collaborative leader with a track record of driving cross-functional initiatives across organizations partnerships with global ecosystem partners.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% in a year
- Must be based in Taiwan -
- Fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese, with ability to conduct high-stakes meetings in either language. and fluent in both English and Mandarin.
