Job Purpose
Join our dynamic Legal, Compliance and Data Privacy Team in Taiwan, where you will ensure that our affiliates operate in compliance with local laws, regulations, and internal policies. As a Legal Counsel, you will provide proactive and holistic legal support primarily to the Electronics and Life Science Businesses and Enabling Functions, while being part of group's global legal network.

Your Role

• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex legal, legislative and regulatory issues, and formulate and execute strategic responses and internal action plans, where necessary – all with a keen understanding of the impacts to business interests and company goals.
• Draft, review, negotiate and provide advice on a broad range of contracts.
• Act with a collaborative spirit to provide advice, guidance, and counsel to internal teams on management and marketing strategies, programs, policies, practices and initiatives with respect to future trends and compliance with present relevant laws
• Ensure that the company's governance structure and systems are appropriate and corporate documentation (e.g., board/shareholder resolutions, amendments and signatory authorities) is well maintained and recorded.
• Provide legal support for all investigations by government agencies, litigation and dispute resolution relating to business operations.
• Experience in dealing with broad corporate matters, including shareholders meetings, governmental approval of foreign investments, change in business scope and corporate restructuring.
• Ensure sufficient training of relevant policies/guidelines in collaboration with Compliance.
• Provide support for capex projects, including industrial complex requirements, government affairs activities and relevant corporate matters.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and independently, both within the local context and in collaboration with international teams across time zones and cultures.

Who You Are

• Education Level: law degree from a well-recognized law school. Additional master degree would be an asset.
• Working Experiences: minimum of 3 years of experience with a law firm and/or pharmaceutical, life science, chemical and/or semiconductor company.

• Professional Skills:

• Admitted to practice law in Taiwan and/or any other jurisdiction is a plus.

• Excellent command of English and Mandarin both written and spoken. Strong legal writing skills is a must.
• Basic understanding of AI, electronic databases and IT system validation.
• Strong presentation, communication and collaboration skills. Comfortable with direct interactions with management. Ability to translate complex legal topics into easy to understand language.
• Ability to take clients' concerns into account in how best to pursue legal strategies.
• Ability to provide effective and simple solutions for complex legal projects and situations.
• Team player who is comfortable to work in international and cross-functional teams and to assume accountability. Proactive working style and willingness to contribute by directly handling all types of legal projects.
• Ability to balance numerous matters while prioritizing same on a day-to-day basis as events require.
