The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join their Taiwan team and play a pivotal role in supporting their joint venture operations managing a substantial portfolio of renewable energy assets. This is a unique chance to be part of Asia's clean energy revolution while working with industry experts who have decades of combined experience.

Reporting to the General Counsel, you will provide comprehensive legal, commercial, and strategic support across all aspects of the Taiwan business.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Legal Support

  • Partner with joint venture stakeholders on business planning and execution across permits, construction, land development, and financing
  • Participate in steering committee meetings and contract review processes
  • Manage internal approval workflows and documentation

Commercial & Contract Management

  • Advise on corporate structures to optimize financial and operational outcomes
  • Review and negotiate complex project agreements, land arrangements, and regulatory permits
  • Oversee due diligence processes and data room management

Governance & Risk Management

  • Provide governance support to project companies and represent shareholder interests
  • Identify and assess legal and commercial risks across the asset portfolio
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop risk mitigation strategies
  • Deliver regular reporting on evolving risk profiles

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements:

  • 4+ years of project development and operational legal experience
  • Qualified to practice law in Taiwan with strong practical experience
  • Proven track record in renewables, infrastructure, or energy sectors
  • Expertise in complex commercial contracts, land agreements, and regulatory frameworks
  • Native-level fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English
  • Experience working in dynamic, growth-stage environments

Highly Desirable:

  • M&A transaction experience
  • Previous in-house counsel or top-tier law firm background
  • Experience managing multi-stakeholder relationships
