What You'll Do
As a Compliance Engineer based in Taichung, you will play a pivotal role in guiding products through complex global certification landscapes. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve close collaboration with various departments to interpret international safety standards and implement them into every stage of product development. You will be responsible for managing chemical compliance initiatives by keeping abreast of evolving regulations worldwide. Your ability to prepare detailed technical documentation will be essential for both internal decision-making processes and external regulatory submissions. By fostering strong relationships with certification agencies and providing expert advice during product design reviews, you will help ensure that every product not only meets but exceeds industry expectations. Frequent domestic travel will allow you to directly oversee critical testing procedures while building valuable connections within the field.
- Oversee all aspects of global product certification processes for fitness equipment and consumer electronics, ensuring full compliance with relevant mechanical safety and electromagnetic compatibility standards.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, quality assurance, and manufacturing to provide clear updates on compliance status and requirements.
- Interpret and apply ASTM, EN, ISO Mechanical Safety standards as well as FCC, IC, and EN EMC testing protocols to new product developments and existing product lines.
- Manage chemical compliance activities by staying current with regulations such as REACH, RoHS, Prop65, TSCA, and coordinating necessary chemical testing for all applicable products.
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation and data analytics reports to support internal stakeholders and external regulatory submissions.
- Prioritise multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining meticulous attention to detail throughout each stage of the certification process.
- Facilitate regular communication with certification bodies such as UL, TÜV, or Intertek to ensure timely approvals and resolve any issues that may arise during testing or review.
- Support hands-on product design reviews from a compliance perspective and provide guidance on best practices for achieving certifications efficiently.
- Travel domestically up to 30% of the time to oversee testing procedures, liaise with partners, or attend industry events related to compliance matters.
